I've had it for a couple days. It works fine. My Macbook pro was bought summer 2009, so I didn't expect audio and there isn't any. I don't know if the adapter would actually support it.
I had to go to settings > display to detect display and mirror them for it to work. But as for now it works fine.
Shipping was prompt with prime shipping.
The only thing I didn't like is that the HDMI cable doesn't fit completely into the hole.

After reading mixed reviews, I took a chance in buying this. I own a mid-2010 13 inch MBP with audio support through mini-display port. I mainly bought this to connect MBP to my flat Samsung TV and this adapter works by passing audio also in addition to excellent video. One thing I had to do is to go to System Preferences -> Sound and select HDMI as output. Overall I am a satisfied customer for the price I paid.

As stated by others, video is fine but there is no audio, and no option available in system prefs. Worthless purchase as I now have to purchase another one from a different manufacturer. Product description carries no warning of possible compatibility issues. User reviews at the time were mixed so I went ahead and purchased it, and sure enough.. no audio.

I purchased this item for 1/6 the price of the same adapter from apple after shipping. Works excellently not something I'd beat around and expect to continue working but if you take care of it you can get away with paying a fraction for the same part.
Macbook Pro to TV's HDMI Port September 5, 2010

This is a relatively easy and inexpensive way to get a great signal from your Macbook Pro to your HDTV. All you need is this connector connected to an HDMI cable and everything works great. This really does provide a high quality video display. My son also got this setup to easier view his Logic Pro screens from his MacBook Pro on his HDTV. Of course, you also have to run the audio from the headphone jack to the TV or receiver.
