Worth the extra expense September 5, 2010

Personally I like banana plugs and they are the input method used by my receivers. These are the best connectors I have found. They work well with a variety of wire gauges. Most of all, they are the easiest to work with. Yes they cost more, but I have never found a connectory I like better.

I bought a pair of B&W speakers that cost 6k and behold! no binding post!
I bought these and the wires now are solid tight.
Very easy to install.

I really like this product! Solidly built and easy to configure. Makes connecting to your receiver a breeze. I know there are cheaper products out there and I'm sure some are really good. These are the only ones I have tried so I can only comment on them. My ears are not good enough to determine whether or not the sound is improved but, I can say the sound is excellent. If you buy them you won't be disappointed.

I purchased these plugs since I like Monster products. 4 plugs- 20 bucks--OK fine. Expensive, but I like quality. When I realized I needed 4 additional plugs for my installation I went to the Home Depot and bought a 4 pack of generic plugs for $6.00, or roughly 1/4 of the price of the Monster plugs. The generics are flat out better, easier and more stable to install and aren't as bulky. Sorry Monster lovers, but most of the monster stuff is simply over priced and overrated, especially the speaker wire. Will I still buy Monster? Probably yes. However, I will resist the urge to do so after this experience. 2 stars not because they are low quality or the plugs don't work but rather because there is a much lower cost alternative that does not sacrifice quality and does the job just as well.

These plugs are more expensive than others I have found but the ease of installation combined with the convenience and quality they are made with I highly recommend them. If you have thick speaker wire it gets harder to wrap the wire around the shank but still once they are on they arent going anywhere. Basically if you unscrew the lower section the wire is fed through and then wrapped around the edge. Then the upper section screws onto the top of them securing them in place.
I lost 14 of these plugs and ended up replacing everyone with the same plug.
