This is a fantastic design. Easy to install. Just clip your wire, insert ends, push down on two buttons. DONE. Life would float by dreamily if all things went this way. Okay I wax nauseatingly.
Yeah there's no nightlight, whatever.
My only complaint is that I can't find it in black.

The product is advertised as having a nightlight. This is not the case. There is no nightlight on this dimmer switch. When the first dimmer arrived and we hooked it up and, when we discovered that there was no light, we called Amazon customer service for assistance getting the product, with a nightlight, that we ordered. We explained that, according to the manufacturer, the product number does NOT have a light. Customer service insisted that the dimmer had a light and that they would send another. Imagine our lack of surprise when the new dimmer arrived without a nightlight. It's been at least a month since we informed Amazon customer service of the problem. At the very least, you would have thought that they would have removed the words "with nightlight" from the product description. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM IF YOU NEED THE NIGHLIGHT. The product DOES NOT have a one.

The LC-300H I received had no trace of the LED nightlight[s] mentioned in the manufacturer's info posted as the description of this item by Amazon. Would have been nice, but I decided to keep it anyway. On the plus side, I was able to install it quickly and easily with a snap. Two snaps, really. No stripping of wire necessary. Just make one clean cut, insert cord ends as far as they will go, then push down the two clamps until they snap and are flush. Allows for wide range of dimness/brightness on my halogen torchere.
If you do not wish to cut your lamp cord, buy this: September 28, 2007

If you do not wish to cut your lamp cord, you may wish to consider this:
Lutron Electronics Plug-In Lamp Dimmer with Nightlight, White #TT-300H-WH
It is basically exactly the same thing, but you plug your lamp into it and plug it into the wall, as opposed to splicing the cord-modifying version (above) onto the existing lamp cord.
If you ever may want to use the device with a different lamp, the plug in version would be easier as you would not have to unsplice the device from the existing lamp cord, and then repair or replace the existing lamp cord.

I have two of these dimmer switches, and I use them for flourescent track lighting above paintings. They work great.
