mini dvi to hdmi adapter March 7, 2010 Jared J. Rautio does exactly what its supposed to do. surprisingly solid construction for the price, easily beats out apples overpriced adapter
Fits, Works March 3, 2010 BC Many of the negative reviews are customer error. If you read the description, you'll see that it's a mini-DVI connector, not mini Display Port. It's a tight fit, which is a good thing if you plan to plug it in and leave it connected, but could be a hazard if you plan to disconnect it regularly. I have my iMac connected to a 52" TV and everything looks fantastic.
Bootleg cable February 21, 2010 Alexander Campbell Payne (New York, New York, United States of America) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This cable is a bootleg; Apple does not manufacture HDMI to mini-DVI adapters. I plugged it into my MacBook and the screen didn't refresh for a new display. Don't expect it to work.
Not Satisfied with the condition received February 17, 2010 trojan.in (San Jose CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First of all Item is really excellent and extremely useful. I can see movies from my mac to my HDTV with connecting HDMI cable as well to this item
The issue is condition I received the cable. It has case of connector (white plastic to cover internal wiring and things on the mini DVI end) broken and one side of it is missing. So one side it had a cover and on the back of it I can see the mini DVI end and its internal wiring. One end of plastic cover which was there got removed as well after only one or two time use. Now my mini DVI end and its internal wiring is completely visible and exposed to dust and things. This is also one the reason its tough to put it connect it with MAC and removing the cable
Macbook video through HDMI February 12, 2010 jeffaudio (Farmington Hills, MI, US) I got this cable so I could connect my Macbook to an HDTV's HDMI port for a higher quality picture than a standard video cable. It works great - the picture is very crisp and a lot better quality. The only issue is that there is still an overscan problem: in order to fill the whole screen, you need to turn overscan on, which removes parts of the edges of the screen. But it isn't as bad as with the regular video cable and may be different depending on what TV you have. If you combine this with a toslink mini to standard optical audio cable (mini-dvi doesn't support audio), you can get 5.1 surround sound out of your Macbook as well!
