Harmless Gryphon (Nowhere worth mentioning)
Pros:
It's an ethernet to USB adapter. It does exactly what it's supposed to, and nothing more.
Cons:
The cable is WAY too long for most things.

This works great, and yes, it works on Ubuntu 9.10 and 9.04 out the box.

very good product, especially in PCs whit the ethernet port disable for any reason.
Windows XP and Ubuntu 9.04 install it automatically,
this has saved me valuable time.

I love this adapter! When I downgraded my machine from Vista to XP, the ethernet port didn't work and I couldn't find drivers for it so I bought this. It worked instantly and has worked ever since. No hassle - just quick, easy internet. Nothing could be easier.
New life to an old computer August 28, 2009

Nowadays if a computer can't hook up to the internet then it's worthless. I abandoned my wireless network for a more secure ethernet home network. I acquired an old computer that didn't have a working ethernet port. I already have several other computers, and so I didn't want to spend a lot of money to get this hooked up to the internet.
This adapter was PERFECT!!! Easy to install on an 8 year old computer, and I was on the internet like a flash.
I don't think it's as fast as a dedicated ethernet connection to the motherboard, but even with USB version 1 my connection speeds are fast enough that I can watch Youtube and download small files without really noticing the difference. Unless you're seriously into downloading gigantic files, this is a good gadget to breath new life into an old computer without spending a lot.
I could have just bought a new USB 2.0 pci card for faster service, but I didn't want to spend that much on this old computer.
